Buyers are no longer taking a dealership’s word as gospel. They are demanding high-resolution proof of physical buttons and sensor housings before they even leave the house. As we head into 2026, the industry needs to realize that "close enough" isn't a valid strategy for listing accuracy. If the software isn't activated or the hardware was deleted at the factory, the price needs to reflect that reality. Until the industry catches up with its own complexity, the burden of proof remains on the consumer. The savvy buyer of today isn't just checking the oil anymore; they are checking the code, the build date, and the physical presence of every single sensor.
